Didn't wake up with a parched mouth - Review by Julia
The product functions as advertised and gave me a good night's sleep: I didn't wake up with a parched mouth and gluggy throat (as when more mucous is produced to keep your windpipes moist). It's not as noisy as the TAAV humidifier (which sounded like a simmering kettle), but it's not super whisper quiet either. It also clicks as the unit turns on and off to maintain the humidity level you set. You can turn off the glowing coloured lights, but can't turn off the glow of the LCD panel. If you need dead darkness and silence in which to sleep, these things may pose a problem for you, but otherwise, it's done what I bought it to do - humidify the air so I don't wake up feeling like I've just swallowed sandpaper, and at a set humidty level so that I don't end up with moisture dripping off the ceiling and walls (which I have done before with a unit without a humidistat). Mum wants one. There is a yellow tinge to the water when you first run it, but then after that the filter doesn't colour the water aymore. And Ozgadgets delivered pretty quickly. (Posted on 25/07/11)
Great Purchase! - Review by Chris Ferrito
This machine has all the functions as advertised. Is easy to operate and will not disturb light sleepers. Could not find this or similar products with such advanced settings in any electrical store. It's always hard to commit to buying a product online. Especially if you've never seen it working, but I could not be more impressed with my purchase. 5 stars for service and quality of product. Pros: Easy to Use
Great Performance , Easy to use - Review by W
First off i have to say the delivery was very quick 1-2days and the price compared to other places is very good.
The humidifier is a great machine, now being colder i turn it on at night to the warm setting and it really does make my house feel much warmer. It's very powerful from what i can see as i use it for the whole house , probably wouldnt work for a large house or double story and it can empty the whole 6L tank in 1night which is impressive. Everyone in the house agrees that they dont get dry throats or stuffy noses in the morning when they wake up (happens sometimes in winter due to low humidity), so it definately is doing its job. The settings are simple and great control i can set the humidity level i want, i think it is between 45% and 65% and if i really want more i can just leave the unit on continuous mode and it runs until the water runs out but 55% is ideal, more than that and you might find that when you wake up you will have lots of moisture on your windows.
Definately worth the money as its very powerful and has all those features that you would want (kills germs, filters water that is going into the air) and is safe in a family home, unlike steam humidifiers which are hazards as you will most likely get someone wanting to touch the steam and burning themselves. Great ionising humidifier with in-built humidistat for automatic operation. - Review by David Miles
Combines a high-output ionizer with humidifier, perfect for dry Australian summers. The in-built digital humidistat allows you to set the desired humidity and the unit will run to achieve that.
The only downside of the humidistat in that it cycles the entire unit (fan, ionizer and ultrasonic vaporiser) on and off and unlike a thermostat that has a range of humidities (a high/low as it were) this does not, so when you are at 49% humidity the unit is on, at exactly 50% it shuts off, and back on at 49%. As you can guess, this can get annoying.
The truth is that there seem few other units on the market that are affordable.
If only they could fix this annoyance, and leave the fan/ionizer on all the time it would be perfect. Id happily trade that for the colour-changed LED... (Posted on 7/02/10)
